Overview

Chagrians are amphibious bipeds with blue skin and long, black, forked tongues. Their four horns occupy two different structures: one pair grows from the skull, while the other comes from fleshy appendages draped over the shoulders. The official species entry identifies Mas Amedda’s rise from Senate vice chair to Imperial grand vizier. This is a record of one Chagrian’s office, not a claim that the species collectively controls the Senate.

Amedda’s biography provides the wider political story. He keeps his position when Palpatine replaces Valorum, calls unruly senators to order and punctuates those calls with his tongue. Amedda knows that Palpatine is a Sith and helps secure increasing powers for him. He stands beside the new emperor when the Republic becomes the Empire, then continues serving as grand vizier. The reference connects his later work with the stormtrooper programme and Imperial strongholds.

These encounters show how a Chagrian’s physical features and political performance are used on screen: an unusual tongue gesture becomes an individual display of authority. They do not establish that all Chagrians share Amedda’s knowledge, allegiance or speaking style. The narrow source basis supports this named example more fully than a general survey of Chagrian family life or homeworld institutions.
