Overview
Captain Constructs command Tears of the Kingdom’s ancient Zonai defenses. More sophisticated than soldiers, they can fuse nearby objects or devices to their equipment. The surroundings therefore become part of their armament, beyond whatever weapon first appears in their hands. Standard Captain Construct I units can wield sticks, bows and Zonaite swords, and can attack with a horn. They occur on sky islands and near fallen ruins.
The family includes I–IV ranks, with Training Constructs serving a particular instructional role. Hostility can follow instructions to exclude intruders rather than personal malice. Defeated captains yield charges and model-specific horns that can enter Link’s own equipment economy. Leadership and Fuse distinguish them from the soldiers they direct. Numerical ranks describe combat models here, not a newly established biological species for each numeral.
First appearances & development
Captain Constructs were introduced with Tears of the Kingdom in 2023. The family’s command role and ranked models belong to that game’s Zonai machinery. This treatment emphasizes the standard Captain I witness where the Compendium is explicit, while retaining the broader family’s I–IV organization rather than assigning identical statistics to every model.
Canon & continuity
The family page identifies captains as commanders and lists ranked forms. The separate Captain Construct I page reproduces the Compendium’s advanced-combat and Fuse description and documents equipment and component drops. Both are independent references to game material; no freshly inspected Nintendo script or complete enemy AI specification is claimed.
