Overview
Bishaten is a Fanged Beast with a handlike tail strong enough to support its body. Membranes along the arms allow gliding, while a belly pouch stores fruit with different effects. The creature can balance, twist and throw its collected fruit, making object handling a central part of its encounter rather than a decorative habit.
Rise's presentation combines this unusual anatomy with a mischievous combat rhythm, in which the monster's supplies can sometimes become useful to a hunter. Sunbreak introduces Blood Orange Bishaten, a distinct subspecies associated with explosive pinecones; those projectiles should not be assigned to every ordinary Bishaten. This account describes the original fruit-using creature in Rise and its returning expansion encounters. Similarities with mythic bird-monkeys or other folklore are not presented as confirmed creator inspiration without the corresponding development source.
