Azandar al-Cybiades

Overview

Azandar al-Cybiades is an arcanist praised and distrusted in Elydrina Nathriin’s letter from Shad Astula Academy. Coming from a family without wealth or magical distinction, he earned an invitation to tutorial scholarship. His knowledge of Daedric realms impressed established scholars, yet Elydrina warns that his brilliance accompanies vanity, elaborate language and disregard for consequences.

Her example concerns Telenger’s excavation of an ancient site beneath Skywatch. Invited as a consultant, Azandar instead closed planar gates and capped magical wells, dismissing mysteries the excavators had carefully preserved. The letter attributes details to correspondence and an overheard exchange; its account remains a colleague’s warning rather than neutral biography.
