Overview
Almudron is a long-bodied Leviathan with a huge tail that gathers and moves mud. Its golden secretions affect the ground, creating dangerous mire, while the tail can carry a large mass of mud as a striking weapon. The environment therefore becomes part of the encounter: barriers, flowing mud and altered footing matter alongside claws and body impacts.
Rise introduces the original animal in muddy habitats, and Sunbreak returns it with expanded Master Rank behavior. The expansion's Magma Almudron is a separate subspecies whose heated-rock presentation should not be substituted for the ordinary monster's mud handling. This distinction makes the common body plan useful without flattening the different threats. The account describes the game's visible terrain manipulation and in-world secretions, not a real chemical formula capable of reproducing those effects or one universal set of combat weaknesses.
First appearances & development
Monster Hunter Rise (2021). This entry follows the version represented by the primary works listed below, rather than treating the name as a single creature shared by every adaptation.
