Overview
Tears of the Kingdom introduces a yellow, spotted airborne creature with conspicuous eyes, thin horns and broad wings. Its cries make it recognizable before it reaches Link, and it can alert nearby enemies. Aerocudas swoop at targets or transport other monsters in their feet, bringing threats into an encounter from above. The strength of their grip does not imply a heavily armored body: they are comparatively easy to shoot down.
Some carry treasure chests and concentrate on keeping the cargo out of reach rather than attacking. That behavior differs from the carriers delivering hostile monsters. During Tulin's story, an Aerocuda is involved in recovering his bow, and more arrive carrying Bokoblins. The same creature design thus links flying predation, stolen equipment and troop transport. Its resemblance to a winged reptile is an appearance description; an etymological comparison to barracudas does not establish a documented design influence or ancestry.
First appearances & development
Aerocuda is documented in Tears of the Kingdom in 2023. This profile confines its ecology and story examples to that game. Later related appearances are not used as a second source work without the same level of inspection, and similarly functioning older flying monsters are not silently merged into this name.
Canon & continuity
The inspected Zelda Wiki article includes the Hyrule Compendium description and identifies adventure-log testimony for the Tulin encounter. These are reference-mediated game witnesses, not an independently replayed sequence. One primary game is listed honestly. The source's speculative name derivation is excluded from claims about creature production or biology.
