Junin Tapaculo

Scytalopus gettyae Hosner, Robbins, Valqui & Peterson, 2013

Source-backed taxonomic record

Accepted species in Catalogue of Life’s 11 September 2026 base release. This preserves the source classification and available supporting data; it is not a completed species monograph.

Juvenile Junin Tapaculo from Apalla-Andamarca Road, Junín, Peru. This species was described in 2013, and the authors did not describe the juvenile plumage. This bird was not vocalizing, however it was strongly responsive to playback of the song of the species, so I am reasonably confident it must have been Scytalopus gettyae.
