Overview
Warlukurlangu Artists describes an Aboriginal-owned centre founded at Yuendumu in 1985. Its mission names guardianship of Warlpiri and Anmatyerre Jukurrpa at Yuendumu.
Artists painted story elements first, checked by others for adherence to Jukurrpa. Colours and individual styles varied within cultural relationships and obligations.
The museum describes a Warlpiri-created and led project established in 2019. Returning displaced objects and archival research support truth-telling and reconnection with family and cultural histories.
