Overview
Mangalore University’s institutional account describes its Tulu Peeta, established in August 1991, as supporting study of Tulunadu’s people, language and culture. Its stated objectives include dialect surveys, collecting and translating literature, research publications and lectures. These objectives concern varied Tulu-speaking communities; they are not evidence that every planned survey or publication was completed.
CIIL and NCERT’s Tulu Primer, first issued in March 2024, is intended to introduce alphabet learning and basic numerals to young children and adult literacy learners. This specific teaching publication complements university research without defining all Tulu speakers through one curriculum or authorising reproduction of its illustrations.
