Tree Rock and DuLaune’s seven sisters

Overview

DuLaune recalls her grandmother’s account: a reluctant sister joins a chasing game, grows hair and claws, and becomes a grizzly bear. A speaking rock helps the others escape, rising beyond the bear’s reach while its sides acquire claw marks.

The survivors become seven celestial sisters. Her narration acknowledges differing sibling counts; this profile preserves her attribution and avoids combining the transcript’s separate Crow, Cheyenne and Lakota stories.
