Overview
The sisters leave their family with a small dogskin, a piece of footwear skin and a fire stone. They hide from searching relatives and refuse to return when hunters encounter them. Facing starvation, they become thunder spirits. Shaking the dry skin brings south-westerly gales, striking the stone produces celestial fire, and their tears become rain.
Their father attempts to recover them through spirit-calling but stops when he learns they are dead. They later terrify people to death, beginning with their parents, and spare a woman carrying a child so she can report what happened. The account imagines even stones moving in fear and says the sisters themselves fear a red dog. The source's associated protective practice is not reproduced as an instruction or presented as meteorological causation.
