Overview
Pro Loquela Silesiana describes its work as supporting Silesian speech in Upper Silesian public life, media and publications. Founded at Mikołów in October 2007, it also supports writers. Its 2009–2010 educational project produced Gōrnoślōnski ślabikŏrz: 46 lessons organized around the school year for younger primary pupils. This is a named organization’s record, not a census of all speakers.
Its standardization account traces meetings in 2008–2009 involving Pro Loquela Silesiana, Danga and other Upper Silesian participants. Jolanta Tambor led the group; its theoretical spelling principles underpinned the later ślabikŏrz orthography. The society established a language council in December 2023. These initiatives document collaborative language development rather than one timeless, universally followed spelling.
