Club catalogued with a Pawnee–Platte River manufacture attribution. Its collection-region field separately says Historical Southwest/Mountain; the individual maker and exact creation date are unknown; the record ends its manufacture and collection date ranges in 1912. One museum object, not a depiction of the present-day Pawnee Nation or a claim that all Pawnee people used it. Compressed for display.

Overview

The National Park Service describes historical Pawnee communities combining maize cultivation and bison hunting with earthlodge villages. It distinguishes four bands rather than treating the Nation as internally uniform.

The Pike-Pawnee Village Site in Nebraska, occupied about 1775–1830, documents trade with Spanish, British, French and American partners and rapid material change after 1803.

Northern Oklahoma College records Pawnee Nation collaboration with a research institute on language teaching materials. Its resource page lists instructional materials available through the Nation’s Education Department and online lessons in alphabet, greetings and basics.
