Imagined language-learning pathways across generations.
Setting, tools and layout imagined; not ethnographic evidence.
Overview
Te Taumata o Ngāti Whakaue Iho Ake Trust describes language learning from early childhood through adulthood, including immersion opportunities and pathways for elders and emerging speakers. It also works with schools and families around Rotorua to reconnect young people with education. These services are a selected community institution’s work.
Te Kāhui Māngai separately lists Ngāti Whakaue and its representative organisations, including Te Komiti Nui. The government directory distinguishes their mandates; one educational trust does not encompass every hapū or all iwi affairs.
