Overview

The Ngaanyatjarra Council’s regional Land and Culture programme describes traditional owners caring for country through practices including patch burning. It connects ecological knowledge and Tjukurrpa teaching with younger generations.

The programme assists visiting scientists and protects heritage during mining exploration on Ngaanyatjarra Lands. Consultations concern local traditional owners and access to country.

The Shire describes Tjulyuru at Warburton as a gallery opened in October 2000, aiming to be a regional cultural centre. It grew from the Warburton Arts Project begun in 1990.
