Overview
ChiNdau.org’s dictionary account surveys bilingual lexicographic work from early missionary vocabularies to more recent publications. It describes Clifford Simango’s 2019 concise dictionary as a Zimbabwe-focused reference for teachers and students, while noting the absence of an inclusive monolingual dictionary. This is a situated account of language documentation, not a judgment that speakers lack knowledge of their own language.
The 2014 Ndau Talking Dictionary identifies community copyright and names its producers. Its retained page combines searchable vocabulary with recorded audio, offering another route to documented language use. Such resources connect written reference work with listening; their selected entries and dated project state do not represent every variety, speaker or current community practice.
