Laz language communities

Overview

The Laz Institute’s 2017 statement identifies maintaining Laz as its central purpose. Founded in May 2013, it conducts research and education with academic, civic and governmental partners. The statement also reserves institutional endorsement for activities approved by its board; an outside depiction cannot imply that approval.

İstanbul Bilgi University describes a beginner Laz course covering the alphabet, everyday vocabulary and basic grammar. Its learning aims include discussing routines, past events and future plans. This educational account concerns language learning, not a claim that all Laz speakers share one nationality or institutional affiliation.
