Imagined community education and publication display.
Setting, tools and layout imagined; not ethnographic evidence.
Overview
Kodava Samaja Bengaluru traces its beginnings to a 1911 Coorg Association formed by eight families. Its own account describes educational support, medical welfare, women’s and youth activities, and the quarterly Kodava journal Pombolak. This urban institution is one community setting, not a substitute for the wider Kodava population.
The Central Institute of Indian Languages lists Kodava Bharathi: Kodava Primer - 1, jointly credited to CIIL and Karnataka Kodava Sahitya Academy, in 2007. The catalogue establishes a language-teaching publication, not its contents, reception or present classroom use.
