Overview

Goro Ibuki creates Jet Jaguar as an android, but the machine becomes a character through its emerging self-awareness. Flight, strength and durability help it act independently, and increasing its size lets it face kaiju on their own scale. The humanoid body and mechanical origin distinguish it from a naturally born giant animal.

Godzilla vs. Megalon first puts the robot under the control of hostile Seatopians, who use it to guide Megalon. Once Ibuki regains control, Jet Jaguar seeks Godzilla's aid and the two fight Megalon and Gigan together. The story changes the same machine's function from coerced instrument to ally. This profile retains that individual 1973 narrative rather than treating each size as a separate form of life or assigning later redesigned robots an identical history.

First appearances & development

Godzilla vs. Megalon (1973) supplies the original Jet Jaguar, directed by Jun Fukuda. The robot's self-awareness and kaiju-sized transformation belong to that story. Later productions reuse the name and visual idea, but their redesigned machines and origins require separate evidence before being added to the original's biography.

Canon & continuity

The inspected official guide directly identifies Ibuki, self-sentience, mass increase, Seatopian hijacking and the alliance with Godzilla. Its primary film is the substantive witness recorded here. The profile does not manufacture a second original-era film appearance or import the differently developed Singular Point robot without a separate source pass.
