Overview

After killing a kidnapper chief, Kil Tong faces the surviving captors and finds his own powers inadequate. He summons spirits described as his old friends, printed quay sin in Allen’s romanization. Swords flash in the air and strike off heads until the band is destroyed. The spirits receive no individual names or bodily descriptions, and no pact explaining their earlier friendship is given. They are not automatically equated with the separate spirit that earlier makes his father ill, or with the human women who conduct an unsuccessful exorcism.
