Overview

Skeat distinguishes Hantu Bandan from the general water and sea spirits by locating it at waterfalls. His notice describes it lying face-down where the water rushes between rocks.

Its head is compared to an overturned kawah, a large cooking vessel. The source provides this compact appearance and setting without an additional abduction or transformation story.
