Gabara

Overview

Gabara has a warty, ogrelike amphibian body and can pass electricity into an opponent through contact. The original story sets that body within young Ichiro's dream, where Minilla suffers attacks from a larger tormentor. The creature's ordinary blows and grappling therefore accompany its electrical power rather than being incidental to a spectacular beam fight.

The dream mirrors Ichiro's own experience with a neighbourhood bully also called Gabara. Helping the small kaiju confront its attacker gives the monster encounter a connection to the child's fear and confidence. The guide's giant-mutant-frog description belongs to this imagined island. It does not establish that an electrically empowered bullfrog actually emerges elsewhere in the film's waking world.

First appearances & development

All Monsters Attack (1969), directed by Ishiro Honda, introduced Gabara within Ichiro's dreams. Its fictional role reflects the boy's real bullying, and the shared name is part of that connection. This profile covers the dream creature instead of adding the human bully as another monster or treating the dream as ordinary shared-film history.

Canon & continuity

The inspected official guide explicitly states the dream setting, amphibian form, electrical contact and parallel bullying. The one primary film supports that limited account. No second appearance or physical population outside the dream is fabricated, and monster-island imagery is distinguished from independent evidence of waking-world biology.
