Overview

Endregas are colonial monsters with different worker, warrior and reproductive roles rather than a collection of unrelated species named for each task. The Witcher 2 describes low bodies that can wait almost unseen in wet vegetation, with eggs enclosed in cocoons and queens defended by lesser colony members. Attacking a nest changes the behaviour of its protectors, linking an encounter to the survival of a group instead of merely a wandering individual.

Wild Hunt retains caste distinctions, including drones, warriors and workers, while the implementation differs from the earlier game's queen-and-cocoon contract. This entry preserves that comparison rather than assuming every encounter must contain every caste visible in another title. Its browsing category is creature priority because it describes a monster colony, not a detailed civilization. The resemblance to an arachnid or lizard is descriptive; it is not a claim that its invented biology fits an ordinary real-world insect taxonomy.

First appearances & development

The selected version is 2011 and 2015 game. CD Projekt RED's games adapt Sapkowski's setting while adding their own creature designs, quest histories and combat classifications. This profile identifies those game treatments, rather than asserting that every detail originates in the novels. Spellings and named variants remain within the same account unless a substantive independent comparison is required.

Canon & continuity

The Witcher Wiki is an independent reference, and its public MediaWiki API supplied the version-labeled bestiary text and relevant quest accounts. Publisher-hosted Prima guide excerpts provide additional context where listed. The bibliography identifies the actual game or reference chapter; it does not imply a complete audit of every novel, expansion, patch, screen adaptation or full guidebook.
