Overview
Nepal’s indigenous-nationalities foundation identifies Duradanda in Lamjung as a central Dura locality and also reports communities elsewhere in Nepal. Its account concerns a living people. It should not be confused with the condition of the ancestral language, nor treated as verification of every narrated migration tradition.
Nicolas Schorer’s publisher-supplied book description presents Dura as effectively extinct while allowing for possible revival efforts. The book analyzes surviving language material through phonology, morphology, lexicon and syntax. This is a description of documentation and linguistic analysis, not evidence that a revival programme has succeeded or that Dura communities disappeared.
