Dhao language communities

Overview

Balukh's 2020 grammar synopsis places Dhao on Ndao Island and describes contact with Kupang Malay and Rote varieties. Its coverage includes phonology, morphology and syntax, with construction-based word categories and serial verbs. Dhao remains the particular language described; contact does not make neighboring languages or communities interchangeable.
