Overview

The Oxygen Destroyer's aftermath supplies Destoroyah with a connection to the original Godzilla's death. Small prehistoric marine organisms mutate, multiply and combine into increasingly substantial bodies. Juvenile creatures can aggregate into a kaiju-sized form; later flight and a final armoured body change how the opponent moves and fights.

The final monster's wings, heavy armour, projected energy and slicing horn make it formidable against an already overheating Godzilla. Its attack on Godzilla Junior brings the conflict into the family's tragedy rather than remaining a contest of unrelated giants. The small organisms, aggregate and final body belong to one developmental threat. Their changing outline is not evidence that every differently sized stage has an independent origin or is another species for a bestiary count.

First appearances & development

Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995) introduced the organism and its transformed bodies at the end of the Heisei film sequence. The Oxygen Destroyer connection reaches back to the 1954 event within that story's continuity. This account does not imply that Destoroyah exists after every Godzilla death in separate timelines.

Canon & continuity

The inspected official guide describes microscopic, juvenile, aggregate, flying and final stages, the horn's slicing attack and the killing of Godzilla Junior. The single substantive film supplies the primary narrative. The Oxygen Destroyer is a fictional weapon: its story effect is not presented as real marine microbiology or a general radiation mechanism.
