AI paradise tree snake preparing an anchored J-loop.
AI interpretation of anchored J-loop preparation; forest setting imagined, not an experimental recording.
Overview
Black dorsal scales carry green or yellow spots; some individuals also show red floral groups. The underside is yellowish green. NParks records diurnal tree-dwelling and a diet of lizards and small birds across Singapore’s wooded and urban habitats.
Socha tracked filmed take-offs from a horizontal branch. During anchored J-loop launch, the posterior body grips the branch while the anterior loop accelerates upward and away. A sliding version moves the whole body; dives and falls lack the same preparatory loop.
Looped departures improved launch measures and full-glide travel. These observations concern tested take-off conditions, not a guaranteed wild glide distance. The proposed evolutionary precedence of these behaviours remains an interpretation rather than a reconstructed ancestor.
Origins & earliest records
The profile follows an institutional species diagnosis and a 2006 experimental study of aerial launch.
Evidence & interpretation
Primary text separates measured launch behaviour from evolutionary suggestions; illustrated preparation is conceptual.
