Cerean

Overview

Cereans are mammalian humanoids with greatly enlarged cone-shaped craniums. Lucasfilm explicitly connects that anatomy with a complex binary brain and identifies Cerea as their homeworld. The tall skull is therefore a defining structural feature, not a hat, crest added to a normal head or an inferred symbol of rank.

Ki-Adi-Mundi is the named Cerean representative on the Jedi Council. His individual record describes his disbelief at the reported return of the Sith, service as a Republic general during the Clone Wars and death when his clone troops enacted Order 66. Those events concern one Jedi's history; they do not establish a species-wide personality or universal Force ability.

The species bibliography includes the prequel films and The Clone Wars. The inspected material does not provide a complete physiology of the binary brain or a creator statement identifying external inspiration. The unofficial civilian portrait retains the conspicuous skull shape while inventing the costume and terrace scene.

First appearances & development

Selected Lucasfilm species and Ki-Adi-Mundi references document the Cerea identity and a prominent prequel-era individual. Exact earliest appearance and exclusive designer attribution remain outside the inspected evidence.
