Bou Saadia’s search for his daughter

Overview

Cervantes Tunis presents Bou Saadia searching for his lost daughter Saadia in North Africa. Some versions give Mali as his origin.

He hides behind a mask and performs music in public squares, hoping she will recognise it and reveal herself. The 2022 workshop retells that motif; no uniform national origin or costume is asserted.
