Black Queen of Plitvice

Overview

The park’s version begins with drought and a voice summoning people to the Spring of Life. Elders identify the Black Queen, whose goodness cannot be seen. People confess their faults; an arrogant wealthy man is expelled.

A rainbow accompanies her declaration of shared love and hope. Right-eye tears form the Black River’s spring; left-eye tears form the White River’s. Dark and white clouds bring rain and sixteen lakes. Later embellishments give her golden hair and a carriage; this telling stresses inward goodness.
