Overview
Aquilamon is a giant bird Digimon distinguished by two substantial horns projecting from its head. Bandai's reference emphasizes keen eyesight, rapid flight and diving attacks in which the horns strike an opponent. Ring-shaped energy projectiles provide a second combat method, while a disciplined temperament separates the profile from a purely savage aerial predator.
Adventure 02 makes Aquilamon the conventional evolved form of Yolei's Hawkmon and uses its combination with Kari's Gatomon to create Silphymon. The television partnership gives the large bird a social and emotional role beyond the reference's generic description of loyalty. Its horns and scale differ materially from Halsemon's armored quadruped design, so those forms should remain separate. Speed claims and evolution conditions are understood within their own fictional reference or game systems, rather than converted into a universal biological specification.
First appearances & development
Multiple continuities; selected Digimon Adventure 02 (2000). This entry follows the version represented by the primary works listed below, rather than treating the name as a single creature shared by every adaptation. Reference Book designs and television individuals are distinct; branching Digivolution routes vary by product and continuity.
Canon & continuity
Bandai's exact species page provides the form's reference classification, named attacks and descriptive lore. Digimon Adventure 02 supplies a separate primary portrayal of a named individual or transformation. These sources are complementary: the reference profile is not a transcript of every anime event, and localized attack names can differ from the Japanese text.

Family, evolution & connections
Eagles
Bandai’s official English profile gives Aquilamon an eagle epithet and emphasizes aerial movement and distant vision. Accipitrid birds provide a real comparative group for those bird-of-prey motifs. Aquilamon’s horns, extreme fictional speed and beam attacks are not eagle biology. The profile’s epithet establishes an association, without identifying a real species or documenting a particular artist’s source material.
